I built the product. Cold outreach is failing. How did you get your first 5 customers?
I built the product. Now Iβm realizing I have no idea where to actually find the first customers π
Iβve been building Trigr, a revenue intelligence product for B2B sales teams.
The basic idea is that sales teams already have a ton of information spread across their CRM, emails, meetings, conversations, etc.
Trigr is supposed to connect that context and catch things that are easy to miss β deals going quiet, follow-ups disappearing, buying signals, revenue risks, things that need attention.
Building it has honestly been easier than distributing it.
Iβve started cold emailing sales leaders and the response so far has beenβ¦ basically nothing lol.
So Iβm trying to figure out whether Iβm using the wrong channel entirely.
For anyone who has sold B2B SaaS from zero:
Where did you actually find your first 5β10 customers?
LinkedIn?
X?
Founder communities?
Sales/RevOps communities?
Cold email?
Discord/Slack groups?
Product Hunt?
Something completely different?
And did you directly pitch the product, ask people to beta test, offer a free pilot, or just start conversations around the problem?
At this point I care way more about getting a few real sales teams using Trigr and telling me what works/doesnβt than getting a bunch of signups.
Would really appreciate hearing what actually worked for you, especially if you were selling something that required customers to trust you with their business data.
