Community Guidelines

How we keep this community worth returning to

Founders Today is built for genuine builders. These guidelines protect the quality of the space for everyone. By using the platform — posting, launching, commenting, or anchoring — you agree to these standards.

Posts & Comments
Rules for everything you publish in the community feed
What makes a good post
  • Shares a genuine lesson, insight, update, or question from your building journey
  • Invites meaningful conversation — not just broadcasting without engaging
  • Has a title that accurately describes the content (no bait-and-switch)
  • Is relevant to building products, growing a startup, or the founder journey
  • Adds something a fellow builder could learn from, act on, or relate to
Prohibited in posts
  • Fabricated metrics, fake traction, false testimonials, or misleading product claims
  • Spam — posting the same link or message repeatedly across the feed
  • Clickbait titles that misrepresent the content
  • Self-promotion without community value (just dropping links with no context)
  • Hate speech, discrimination, harassment, or personal attacks
  • Content that reveals private information about others without consent
  • Phishing links, malware, or deceptive URLs
  • Adult content, graphic violence, or anything illegal in your jurisdiction
  • Impersonating any person, brand, or company
Comment standards
  • Add something to the conversation — an observation, resource, question, or thoughtful disagreement
  • Disagree with ideas, not the people behind them
  • Do not hijack someone's post to promote your own work
  • Generic "great post!" spam comments will be removed
The founding principle: Contribute first, promote second. If your post only exists to extract attention, clicks, or leads — it doesn't belong here.
Product Launches
Rules for submitting and maintaining your product listing
Submission requirements
  • You must be the founder, owner, or authorised representative of the product you submit
  • All descriptions, taglines, and fields must accurately represent what your product actually does
  • Metrics (users, revenue, waitlists) must be real — verifiable numbers only
  • Gallery images and demo videos must show the actual product, not mockups labelled as live
  • Pricing information must be current and accurate at submission time
  • Website URLs must be live and functional at the time of submission
Prohibited in product listings
  • Duplicate submissions — each product can only be listed once
  • Submitting products you don't own or have no connection to
  • Products designed to harm users, spread misinformation, or facilitate illegal activity
  • Manipulated or stock-photo screenshots presented as real product UI
  • False "coming soon" listings for products that don't exist yet
  • Affiliate or reseller listings for other people's products without clear disclosure
Review and maintenance
  • All submissions go through a human review before being published
  • Review decisions are final. You may resubmit after addressing the feedback given.
  • Keep your product page updated as the product evolves
  • Products that are discontinued should be marked accordingly or removed
Quality over quantity. We'd rather have 200 honest product listings than 2,000 padded ones. Launches that misrepresent their products damage trust for every founder on the platform.
Anchor Member System
Rules for anchoring other founders and growing your own anchor count
What anchoring means
  • Anchoring a founder means you're genuinely interested in following their work and progress
  • Anchored founders' posts and updates get prioritised in your feed
  • It's a form of community-driven endorsement — use it to signal real respect
Required behaviour
  • Only anchor founders whose work you genuinely want to follow
  • Anchor growth must come from authentic community participation
  • If you use the Builders to Anchor advertising feature, your profile must accurately represent your real work
Prohibited in the anchor system
  • Using bots, scripts, or automation to increase your anchor count
  • Offering money, favours, or services in exchange for anchors
  • Spamming DMs or comments pressuring others to anchor you
  • Coordinated anchor pods — groups of people mutually anchoring each other to game visibility
  • Creating fake accounts to anchor your primary profile
  • Misrepresenting your identity or achievements on the Builders to Anchor recommendation list
Anchor counts that grow through manipulation will be reset. We monitor for unusual patterns. The anchor system works because it's real — protect that.
General Platform Conduct
Standards that apply everywhere on Founders Today
Respect and safety
  • Treat all community members with basic respect, regardless of stage or background
  • Challenge ideas constructively — not people personally
  • Disagreement is welcome. Abuse, threats, and harassment are not.
  • Do not share private conversations publicly without explicit consent
  • Do not reveal personal data about others (doxxing)
Prohibited conduct (all areas)
  • Operating bots or automation on any part of the platform
  • Creating multiple accounts for any reason
  • Impersonating platform staff, moderators, or other members
  • Attempting to scrape, harvest, or exploit platform data
  • Using the platform to facilitate illegal activities of any kind
  • Sharing content that infringes third-party intellectual property
