Getting Started
The basics for new members
Founders Today is a community platform where founders and builders share product launches, post updates, ask questions, and grow an audience. The feed is ranked by real engagement, not paid placement. You can launch products, anchor other founders, join discussions, and track how people interact with your work.
Click Join Free on the homepage or any sign-up prompt. Enter your email and choose a password. You will be taken through a short onboarding flow where you pick topics, set a username, and add a bio. You need a complete profile before you can publish posts or submit a product launch.
Complete your profile: add a photo, write a short bio, and set your username. Then browse the feed, anchor a few founders whose work interests you, and join a discussion. When you are ready, publish your first post or submit your product.
No. The core platform is free. You can create an account, post, launch products, anchor founders, and join discussions without paying. Paid features like SEO Boost and advertising are optional add-ons.
Posts
Writing and managing community posts
Click New Post in the navigation bar. Write a title, add your content, and pick a category. Posts can be discussions, resources, questions, or updates. Your profile must be complete before publishing.
Yes. Open the post, click the menu (three dots) in the top right of the post card, and choose Edit or Delete. Edited posts show an "edited" label. You can also edit from your dashboard.
Posts are removed if they violate our Community Guidelines. Common reasons include spam, clickbait titles, self-promotion without value, fabricated metrics, or harassment. You receive a notification when a post is removed. If you believe it was a mistake, you can appeal through the Contact Support section below.
The feed uses a ranking algorithm that weighs upvotes, comments, anchors, recency, and overall engagement. New posts get an initial visibility window. Posts that earn real engagement during that window get promoted to more feeds. Paid placement does not affect feed ranking.
A post is a community update, question, or discussion. A launch is a structured product listing with a dedicated page, tagline, gallery, pricing, and FAQ section. Launches go through review before they appear on the launches page.
Launching a Product
Submitting and managing product launches
Go to Launches and click Submit. Fill in the wizard: product name, tagline, description, category, stage, website URL, logo, cover image, and optional gallery screenshots. You can verify your domain for a trust badge. When you submit, your launch enters pending review status. Our team reviews it and publishes it if it meets the guidelines.
Most launches are reviewed within 48 hours. You will receive an email notification when your launch is approved or if changes are needed. You can check the status anytime from your dashboard.
Yes. Go to your dashboard, find the product, and click Edit. You can update the description, gallery, social links, and FAQ. The website URL and launch date are locked once published. If you need those changed, contact support.
Product of the Day goes to the launch with the highest combined engagement score for that calendar day. The score includes upvotes, comments, views, clicks, and bookmarks. The winner is displayed at the top of the launches page the following day.
The default limit is two launches per month per account. This keeps the quality bar high and prevents spam. If you need a higher limit, contact support.
Domain verification proves you own the website linked to your product launch. You add a meta tag with a unique token to your site, then click Verify. Verified products show a trust badge, which increases click-through rates and user confidence.
Founder Profiles
Setting up and managing your profile
Your profile is created during onboarding. Go to Settings, then Profile to edit your name, username, bio, avatar, location, and links. A complete profile has a photo, bio, and at least one link. You need a complete profile to publish posts or submit launches.
Yes, you can change your username from your profile settings. Your old profile URL will redirect to the new one. If another user takes your old username, the redirect stops working.
Profile lock is a status that prevents certain fields from being edited after verification. This protects verified founders from impersonation and keeps profile data trustworthy. Locked fields include your name and username. You can manage this from account settings.
Verified badges are given to founders who have a complete profile, an active product launch, and a history of genuine community participation. There is no application process. If you qualify, you will receive a notification.
Community and Anchors
How anchoring and community features work
An anchor is similar to a follow. When you anchor a founder, their posts and updates get prioritized in your feed. It signals that you are genuinely interested in their work. Your anchor count reflects how many people want to follow what you build. You can discover founders to anchor in the member directory.
Click the Anchor button on any founder profile or post card. Their content will appear higher in your feed from then on. You can unanchor someone at any time. Anchors are real people, not bots. Buying or trading anchors is prohibited and will result in account suspension.
Yes. Go to your profile page and look at the Anchors tab. You can see a list of founders who anchor you. This list updates in real time.
Badges are earned through real activity on the platform. Examples include publishing your first post, launching a product, reaching anchor milestones, and getting featured. Badges appear on your profile and in your posts. You cannot buy badges.
Click the report flag on any post, comment, or profile. Choose a reason and submit. Our moderation team reviews every report. You can also use the Report page for detailed reports.
Billing and Subscriptions
Paid features and how billing works
Founders Today has optional paid features rather than tiered plans. You can purchase SEO Boost credits from the Toolkits page, or set up advertising from the Advertise page. There is no recurring subscription required to use the core platform.
SEO Boost is a paid tool on the Toolkits page that helps your product launch rank higher in search engines. It generates optimized meta titles, descriptions, and keyword suggestions based on your product data. You buy credits and spend them as you go.
You can buy ad placements that appear in the feed and on product pages. Go to the Advertise page, choose your placement type, upload creative, set a budget, and configure targeting. Ads are labeled as sponsored and do not affect organic feed ranking.
If you are not satisfied with a paid feature, contact support within 14 days of purchase. We will review your request and issue a refund if the feature did not work as described. Advertising spend that has already been delivered is non-refundable.
Account and Security
Keeping your account safe
Click Sign In, then Forgot Password. Enter your email and we send a reset link. The link expires after one hour. If you do not see the email, check your spam folder.
Go to Settings, then Account. Enter your new email and confirm. We send a verification link to the new address. Your account stays active during the switch.
Go to Settings, then Account, and scroll to the bottom. Click Delete Account. This permanently removes your profile, posts, launches, and anchor connections. This action cannot be undone.
We use Supabase for authentication and database storage, which includes row-level security and encrypted connections. We never share your email or personal data with third parties. You can review our Privacy Policy for full details.
Report the profile immediately using the Report page or the report flag on the profile. Include a link to your real profile or any proof of identity. Our team investigates impersonation reports as a priority.
Troubleshooting
Views, impressions, upvotes, and engagement
Impressions count each time your product card appears in someone feed, on the launches page, or in search results. A single user can generate multiple impressions if they scroll past your card more than once. Views are counted when someone clicks through to your full product page.
Common causes: a weak tagline, no cover image, no gallery screenshots, or a vague description. Products with clear taglines, real screenshots, and detailed descriptions get significantly more clicks. Also check that your website URL is live and loads quickly. Try improving your launch page or boosting your SEO.
Anyone signed in can upvote a product or post once. Upvotes are a signal of genuine interest. The ranking algorithm weighs upvotes alongside comments, bookmarks, and anchors. Upvote manipulation through bots or coordinated voting is prohibited and detected automatically.
Engagement fluctuates based on feed timing, how many founders are active, and whether your content is fresh. If you notice a sudden drop, check that your posts are still visible (not removed), your profile is complete, and your website is online. If everything looks normal, it may just be a slow period.
New posts appear at the top of the feed briefly, then settle based on engagement. If your post has low engagement, it may move down quickly. Also check that your post was not removed for a guideline violation. You can always find your posts on your profile page.
Use the Contact page linked in the footer. Choose a topic, describe your issue, and submit. You can also email support directly. We respond to most requests within one business day.
