How do you stay patient when you have 0 users and $0 revenue?

I’m actually asking because I’m starting to struggle with this.
I’ve been building my product for a while now. The product works, I keep improving it, I’ve put it in front of people, but getting people to actually use it consistently is a completely different problem.
And the money part... still $0 MRR.
I knew it wouldn't happen overnight, but there’s something mentally difficult about spending weeks building something and then opening your dashboard and seeing almost nothing.
Sometimes I wonder if I’m doing something wrong.
Then I look around online and it feels like everyone is launching something every other week and getting hundreds of users immediately.
Maybe that's just the internet making everything look easier than it is. I’m also starting to wonder if AI has made distribution harder.
Before all these AI coding tools, being able to build software was a real advantage. If you were a good developer, there were fewer people who could actually build the thing.
Now almost anyone can build something. So the bottleneck has moved.
There are thousands of products launching, thousands of founders posting about them, and everyone is fighting for the same few seconds of attention.
I wasn't around for the early SaaS days, so maybe I'm romanticizing it, but it seems like there was a time when being able to build a good product was enough to get some attention.
Now I can build the product. Getting someone to care about it feels harder.
For the solo founders who have been through the 0 users → first 10 → first $1K MRR stage, how did you keep yourself going?
Was there a point where you realized “this is normal, I just need to keep going”?
Or did you eventually realize you were working on something nobody actually wanted?
I’m trying to figure out the difference before I waste six months being “patient” with the wrong thing.

Stephanie, I’d separate two problems before changing anything: getting the right people to try the product, and getting people who try it to keep using it. They can look identical on a $0 MRR dashboard but have very different causes. Of the people you’ve already put it in front of, are they not starting at all, or are they trying it and then dropping away?
I have started running some Facebook ads to the landing page and it converting but most people that stays have 18% conversion ratio and those 18% signed up I guess after all I learnt something new the best bet is paid marketing even while failing or trying/succeeding nobody is going to support a 0 user business.
That's useful — it sounds like you're getting enough initial interest to see where the funnel is breaking. When you say the landing page is converting at around 18%, what action counts as that conversion? And after that point, what does someone still have to do before they're fully signed up and able to use the product?
I setup the pixel to capture Signup and that is recorded as Conversion no heavy onboarding just few questions and boom users tend to love the product it an AI tools that checks if your Saas is SEO ready if you score 100 from our platform then that product is cross-checked to go lemme know if you are willing to check it out.
That makes the picture much clearer. If people are completing signup and those who reach the product tend to like it, I’d probably stop treating signup itself as the main problem. The part I’d want to understand next is the gap between usage and revenue. At what point are users asked to pay — before they experience the product, after a free trial, or only after they’ve already been using it?
Well i must say marketing is super hard, but am currently at 100$ MRR but the journey wasn't easy
This is beautiful would appreciate if you can share what is working for you 🙏 I just anchored you hope to see more of your work
