The FBI just arrested an OpenAI engineer over an alleged recording device planted inside the company's office.
Apparently, the engineer is accused of hiding a device in an executive conference room to secretly record conversations. OpenAI reportedly used its own AI models to help identify who was behind it.
Imagine working at one of the biggest AI companies in the world and allegedly trying to spy on your own colleagues. The irony is crazy.
What makes this story even more interesting is that there hasn't been any indication that OpenAI's source code, model weights or customer data were stolen.
AI companies are spending billions trying to stay ahead of each other, and now they also have to worry about what's happening inside their own offices.
