How are you making your startup visible inside AI-generated answers?

I run a small B2B SaaS and I've been noticing a shift: more prospects tell me they first asked an AI assistant about the problem we solve, and then came looking for us. Our old playbook was ranking pages in Google, but that doesn't obviously translate to being mentioned inside an AI-generated answer.

So I wanted to ask founders who are watching this closely: what are you actually doing to become visible in AI answers? Are you restructuring your docs and help center so answers are easy to lift, writing clearer FAQ pages, trying to get cited on third-party review sites and forums, or something else entirely? And how are you even measuring whether it's working, when there's often no click to track?

Especially curious what lean, bootstrapped teams are doing here without a full content team. What's worked, and what's been a waste of time?

I don't think whatever we do worked, Paid lot of redditors to talk about our brand ( later found out that because those posts didn't have engagement it won't attract AI visibility) also started posting on linkedin, And more founders community I guess Google AI overview is just killing everything afterall.

Honestly, I think getting mentioned on third-party websites is becoming just as important as having good content on your own site. AI tools need other sources to establish which products are worth mentioning, so my daily routine is focusing on getting genuine mentions on relevant blogs, comparison pages, founder communities and review platforms. I'm also paying more attention to how clearly our product and what it does are described across the web. It's still early, but I think consistency across these sources will matter more than publishing dozens of articles just to target AI search.
